XML Tools
XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a text-based format for structured documents and data interchange. It supports attributes, namespaces, mixed content and comments — making it the foundation for SOAP web services, RSS and Atom feeds, SVG graphics, and office document formats such as DOCX and XLSX.
Unlike JSON, XML documents must be well-formed: every opening tag requires a matching closing tag, attributes must be quoted, special characters must be escaped as entities (&, <, >), and there can be only one root element. The XML Formatter validates well-formedness and reports the exact line and column of any error.
When moving XML data into modern APIs or applications, the XML to JSON converter handles attribute mapping automatically — attributes appear as @_attribute keys in the output, and a warning is shown for elements that cannot map cleanly to JSON objects.
